4 steps to consciously acknowledge your thoughts

What was the 1st thing you told yourself this morning when opening your eyes ?

‘’Oh, this day is going to be AMAZING ! I am going to fulfill a lot of things today!’’ OR ‘’Oh man, I slept terriblly, I know it’s going to be a shitty day, do not feel like getting out of my bed!’’

Either way, the common thing here, you guessed, is YOUR THOUGHTS!

I am not the first one to tell it, neither the last, but what I am here for, is to reinforce it!

Let’s say you had a terrible day, you come home back from work and you tell yourself, I am such a failure ! You launched the word and here comes the thought of being a failure. You start sweating or feel like scratching your skin, the reptilian brain has received an alarm. You feel you might be in danger and the survival mode is activated.

Same with a word you might hear within your group of friends, at your child’s school or even during a family gathering. And then you find yourself again and again in this loop of thoughts and emotions and then physical reactions.

Here are some steps that can help you deal with the situation at a conscious level:

First step in all this? AWARNESS!

Make yourself a check-up list, that’s right, grab a paper and a pen. Add in all the negative words you hear yourself say in a day, this will help you gain clarity over how often you’re doing it ! Moreover, when you are writing something down, with a pen and paper, you are stimulating a collection of cells in the base of your brain known as the reticular activating system. In other words, the physical act of writing brings the information to the forefront and triggers your brain to pay close attention.

Now that you payed close attention to this aspect, let’s do a trick to our brain.

Imagine you’ve written down : I am stupid, or, I am ugly. Replace the ‘’I am’’ with, ‘’I have’’ …. ‘’I had a bad day, therefore I couldn’t concentrate’’, or ‘’I haven’t been eating right lately, therefore I feel tired and my skin is showing it as well’’. This small step allows you to identify the difference between something transitory and something that defines us.

Next step, visualise the word ‘’problem’’ being replaced with the word ‘’programm’’. Often times we tend to say we have problems and issues. Seeing it rather a behavioural programming rather than a problem will help you create a shift and take distance.

The final step, being mindful of the impact that our words have on ourselves, OUR WORDS do CREATE OUR REALITY.

Now, if you want to level-up your game, go deeper and further and work at the subconscious level! I am here to guide you through the process.
